Bamba is a professional dance teacher, international dancer and choreographer from Senegal. He specializes in traditional West African dances such as Sabar and Djembé. He has been teaching Sabar, Mbalax and other dance styles in Europe since 2012 and knows how to inspire and encourage his students with his humorous and patient manner.
He was born in Parcelles Assainies, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal (West Africa). Coming from a Griot family, he started his career at a young age. He encountered the different dance styles of this world at the socio-cultural center of Parcelles Assainies: Mbalax, Coupé Décalé, Funk, Rock'n Roll, Salsa, Rumba, Zulu, Djembe, just to name a few.
As a member of the "Navajo NBA" dance crew, he repeatedly took part in one of the most important dance competitions in Senegal, the "Oscar des Vacances". This competition offers a meeting platform for various dance groups from all regions of Senegal. The performances are televised nationwide and are particularly popular with young people. The highlight is the battle for the title - which he won with his dance group in 2002. In 2002 he founded the group "Goorgoolu" with his cousin Fallou, with whom he has made guest appearances on television and in video clips.
This was followed in 2011 by the founding of the dance troupe "African Ndiguel" under the direction of his longtime friend and companion Yelly Thioune. Thanks to the high dancing quality of the group members, they developed their very own dance style, which impresses with the mixing and variation of traditional dances with elements of worldwide dance art and was met with great enthusiasm during the tours in Senegal.
He was a dance teacher and drummer in the association "Fii ak Féé" in Nantes, France in 2012-2013. From September 2013 to December 2016 he lived and worked in Stuttgart, Germany: Sportkultur Stuttgart, Swingstep Stuttgart, Namèl E.V Nürtingen, VHS Stuttgart, Kulturwerk Stuttgart-Ost, Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt Ludwigsburg, Jugendamt Waiblingen. From 2014-2018 he was a lecturer at the Summer Dance Week in Ulm, and in 2015 and 2016 at the AfroLatin Dance Days in Tanzhaus Düsseldorf. Since 2018 he has been giving traditional Sabar dance courses in the Africa Bégué association in Strasbourg. He offers dance workshops for all dance lovers in Germany (as in Achern, Berlin, Tübingen,...) but also in other European countries : Italy, Sweden, France…
Bamba Guéye has worked with the band "Diversité" ("Hope Europe: Refugees from Africa") in Stuttgart, Waiblingen, Reutlingen, Hechingen, Ludwigsburg. He is also a chorister, dancer and talking drummer in the band "Nomad & Kandara Diabaté". He also gives African Root Music concerts with his band “Africa Bégué Afromusic Acoustic”.
In Strasbourg and Ammerschwihr (Colmar) he passes on his knowledge (especially Sabar and Mbalax dance) in regular dance courses with live music. He also gives workshops in France (Nantes, Paris, Bordeaux, Montbéliard...), in Germany (Achern, Stuttgart, Ulm, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Nuremberg...) and other European countries (Italy, Switzerland, Sweden...). Every year, in February, he organizes workshops in Senegal. He is also involved as a lecturer in schools and leisure centers.
With a lot of enthusiasm and passion, Bamba teaches the unique and rich choreographies of the traditional dance "Sabar". With the art of the "Nguéwel" his pedagogy becomes humorous, funny, appealing and cheerful - 100% "happy". Happy is also the meaning of his name "Bégué Bayfall" in the Wolof language.
